Visiting us in store with your firearm?
If you are visiting us in-store with your firearm, please ensure that you have your valid firearms licence on your person, and your firearm is unloaded and is securely cased before entering our store.
Also please ensure that you have your valid firearms licence on your person when viewing or collecting firearms in store.
DEALER TO DEALER FIREARM TRANSFER:
**Please Note** We do not store firearms transferred and received from Queensland or Interstate firearms dealers. if you are looking to purchase and have a firearm transferred to us at Extreme Gear, please ensure you have notified us of this transfer taking place and ensure you have an approved Queensland PTA in hand before arranging to have your firearm transferred and posted to us from an authorised dealer.
This will allow us to contact you immediately on receiving your firearm into store for disposal to you. Please also ensure that the disposing dealer has provided all your correct contact details on your parcel when dispatching to us.
Failure to follow the above requirements may result in your firearm not being accepted by Extreme Gear upon arrival or a storage fee being charged excess to our standard dealer to dealer transfer fee for receiving your firearm.
Firearm brokerage fee:
For a standard firearm brokerage transfer (person to person) where you come into our store and we simply conduct the transfer by completing and submitting the necessary forms to Queensland Police WLB, with no complicating factors, our total fee is $11 per each (PTA) as required by law.
When transferring a firearm (s) in store please ensure that you bring in all completed signed paperwork, including your valid firearms licence and the firearm (s) to be brokered. Extreme Gear is only licenced to transfer Category A & B firearms only.
Permit to acquire (PTA):
All purchases of firearms require a Permit to Acquire (PTA) from the Queensland Police which can be submitted online via the QPS website. If for any reason you require assistance lodging a PTA, Extreme Gear can lodge your PTA for you and will only charge you for the current cost of the PTA when purchasing your firearm instore.
For all PTA's submitted in-store by Extreme Gear, we will request that the PTA be sent directly to us the dealer once approved by Queensland Police WLB, (which would be Extreme Gear). Upon Extreme Gear's completion of lodging your PTA, you will however receive an email notification of this occurrence from WLB confirming lodgement.
Once your PTA is finally approved by WLB which can sometimes take up to 28 days, you will also receive an email notification of this occurrence, remember your PTA is only valid for six (6) months from the date of approval. As a dealer, please note that we do not always receive an instant notification of this approval from WLB, in most cases it may take approximately 2-4 days before we receive this notification from WLB.
Extreme Gear will however make every effort to contact you promptly to collect your firearm once we have received your approved PTA and complete the required paperwork for collection of your firearm in store.
Scope fitting service:
If for any reason you require any advice on optics selection or want more information about our in-store scope fitting service, please ask our friendly staff for assistance. To help you choose the best rings, bases and or mounts to fit your budget and firearm, we stock a large selection of steel and aluminium rings and bases to suit most applications.
We also stock a comprehensive range of professional scope mounting tools and kits, including torque wrenches which will allow you to also get the job done right the first time. We also offer professional advice just ask.
Restricted purchases:
Unfortunately, we are unable to ship certain products to you. Therefore, these items must be collected in-store.
If you are in the Wide Bay Burnett area you can drop into our shop front located at Shop 3B, Westpoint Shopping Centre, 107 Takalvan Street, Bundaberg, Queensland 4670. (Opposite The Good Guys) during normal business hours.
